To my fellow Members of CFMA Philadelphia: I hope this letter finds you well and you are enjoying the summer. It has been about three months since I have been president and I wanted to update you on a few things that are going on at our Chapter: We are excited to offer the new CFMA Leadership Acceleration Program at the local chapter level. This is a 7-month program that will provide crucial leadership development to Construction Industry Professions with 3-15 years of accounting or finance experience. Each participate will take the Predicative Behavior Index prior to the program which is tied to each lesson of the program along with one on one coaching. You will have the opportunity to network and create long-term bonds with your classmates. At the end of the program you will be assigned a mentor to help guide you along this journey as a leader. We are now accepting applications for this program which will start in November. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS. Registration is now open for the 22nd annual Mid-Atlantic conference. The conference will be held from September 24nd through the 26th and be held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort in Cambridge Maryland. This regional conference will offer ground-breaking presentations from industry experts and you can earn up to 18 CPE credits. There will also be a number of social and network events held through-out the conference. Finally, if you are considering taking the CCIFP exam, there will be an overview course that will be offered at the Mid-Atlantic conference this year. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS. On October 4th, we will be hosting a new member breakfast at Maggiano in King of Prussia. This is a free event for any new member that joined over the last two years. It will also be open to anyone that is interested in joining the chapter. You will get to network with the CFMA Leadership team and hear about the benefits of CFMA at the local and National levels. You will also get a chance to learn more about how to get more engaged in the chapter through various committees. If you are interested in attending, email Carlo Ferri at cferri@kmco.com. On October 24th we will hold our annual Barbara Mosteller Golf Outing at Waynesborough Country Club. Registrations will be opening soon for this event. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a sponsor as this event. I hope to see you there. The chapter has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Chester County to help with supporting their mission of bringing more affordable housing to families in need. We will be participating in a group build event with Habitat at their construction site on October 12th. This is a one-day event where participants volunteer their day to help build and construct housing for families in need. Look for more information coming out for this event in the next couple of weeks. Space will be limited so please if interested do not hesitate in signing up. In November we will be holding a national WIP training course to our members. This course will go into details on how to account for and properly account for WIP in a construction business. This will be a 4-hour course that will be taught by leading expertise in the industry. More details to follow. Finally, in December we will be hosting our annual Christmas party at Maggiano’s in King of Prussia. A save the date will be coming out shortly for this December 6, 2022 event.
