Growth for most businesses is reflected in the formation of a written contract or agreement. These agreements can materially transfer risks to or from you when things go sideways. Anthony will review some best practices in contract review and identify an easy way to locate five contract provisions that materially affect how claims are settled after a loss.
- Understand the insurance-related reasons why it is imperative to have an executed contract before you begin work.
- Review some basic tenants of contract law, with a focus on best practices to avoid BREACH of contract claims due to failure to comply with Insurance Related Provisions;

Anthony ("AT") has over 37 years of experience in Risk Management and Insurance. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University's school of Business with a degree in Insurance, AT spent his early career underwriting for prominent insurers. Following that, AT spent over 30 years in the brokerage/consulting arena, assisting production, account management and claims staff in meeting clients' needs. AT is adept at designing tailored insurance programs, evaluating coverage, and sharing his knowledge in training and quality assurance capacities. He serves Gallagher as the technical lead in the Mt. Laurel, NJ office and has experience with the coverage needs of many different industries, along with the commercial insurance marketplace's response to those needs, including Group Captives. AT is actively involved in implementing the Risk Management Process in his work, and believes that identifying exposures is a paramount first step to any undertaking in the field. He has served as an expert witness, yet strongly prefers to avoid litigation through clear and well-drafted communication/contracts/policies! AT resides in Plymouth Meeting, PA with his wife and three teenage children. He is an avid Chesapeake Bay sailor.
