    W.S. Cumby is seeking a self-starting and detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company's financial records and accounting procedures and personnel. The candidate should embody the company's core values of Integrity, Partnership and Commitment. 

     

    Responsibilities: 

    - Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures

    - Perform monthly close and provide financial updates and analysis to management

    - Ensure timely customer invoicing and payable processing

    - Interface with outside accountants to assist in preparation of financial statements

    - Prepare monthly Job Cost reports for meetings with Project Managers and Management

    - Interact with Project Managers and implement cost control reporting on individual projects

    - Oversee preparation of Invoices (including Cost Plus and Lump Sum contract types) and assist with collections when necessary

    - Prepare Work in Progress (WIP) Reports

    - Review Monthly G/A expenses and make appropriate recommendations for cost controls

    - Oversee regular bank reconciliations and transaction verification

    - Assist with sales tax compliance and payroll related issues

     

    Qualifications: 

    - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar field

    - Experience in construction / contracting accounting

    - Familiarity with Lump Sum and Cost Plus Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts

    - Familiarity with construction accounting practices (Work-In-Progress, Over/Under billings, etc.)

    - Strong work ethic and "hands-on" approach
